I have very discolored teeth and some of them are crooked. I want to get a nice smile but right now I am just exploring my options. If I were coming to you, how would you fix my teeth?
I want you to bear in mind with everything that I’m saying I haven’t actually examined you or seen your teeth. I’m going strictly by what you said you wanted to fix about your teeth without understanding their condition.
Option One: Invisalign and Teeth Whitening
Invisalign uses clear aligners to straighten your teeth. They’re faster than braces and much more comfortable. Plus, they’re invisible even at a conversational distance. Because of the nature of the aligners, it allows you to whiten your teeth simultaneously. This is because the aligners can double as teeth whitening trays.
It’s an affordable option and can give you an attractive smile. Both procedures are simple so any dentist can do a good job with them.
Option Two: Porcelain Veneers
Above is a porcelain veneers case done by Dr. Doan. On the left is his patient’s smile before getting the porcelain veneers, the image on the right was after. These are done using special wafers made of porcelain. A great cosmetic dentist is required if you want it to turn out well. But, they can change absolutely anything about your smile, including the shape, size, and color. They can even make crooked teeth look straight.
Finding an Expert Cosmetic Dentist
This procedure requires an expert cosmetic dentist. They will need both technical skill as well as an artistic eye. Without that, you’ll be disappointed at best about the results. Ideally, you’ll want a dentist who has reached accreditation with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. AACD accredited dentists have passed stringent exams and demonstrated their artistry in a large number of cases. You will get a stunning smile.
You can find a list of them on aacd.com. They have a “find a cosmetic dentist” link. Just make sure you check the box that says you’re looking for an accredited dentist.
