We are happy to announce that we will be resuming practice starting, Tuesday, May 26th. Our goal is to create a safe, comfortable, and individualized care experience for every patient. We have implemented an advanced multifaceted program to provide a safe environment for our patients and staff. Our safety plan includes three main aspects of protection.
The first line of defense includes screening, distancing, and surface sanitation protocols. We plan to screen every patient for symptoms at the confirmation call and again just prior to their appointment time. We will also perform a temperature check for every patient upon arrival. The same symptom screening and temperature checks will be performed for all of our staff members every day. We are also requesting that every visitor wear a mask while in our office. You will also notice that our staff members will be wearing masks at all times. Distancing protocols will include scheduling strategies to minimize the number of patients in the office at the same time, and will allow extra time for proper sanitation procedures between appointments. We have placed separation barriers and removed items like magazines that potentially could increase the possibility of virus transmission. We have a hand sanitation station on the front counter for hand sanitation upon entry into the office. We have a scheduled sanitation protocol to ensure that surfaces are regularly sanitized. We will also be directing our patients to use the restrooms that are near the entry into our building since these restrooms offer touch-free facilities.
The second safety measure is designed to filter the air in our office. We have medical-grade HEPA filters to filter the air in the office. The filters are able to filter particles smaller than the size of the virus. Our goal is to address the circulating air and any aerosols that may be created during patient care.
The third tier of patient and staff protection is our infection control protocols that are used before, during, and after dental procedures. We use an EPA registered hospital grade surface disinfectant that is certified to kill the COVID-19 virus as well as other pathogens. It has a 1-minute kill time.
The measures that we are taking for the protection of our patients and staff exceed the recommendations of the CDC and ADA. As always, we remain committed to providing the very best dental care, in the most comfortable way, and in the safest environment. We very much look forward to seeing you soon!
